As not to tarnish my college with stories of my antics, I will refrain from actually naming my alma mater. I simply will not give those editors at the U.S. News and World Report the satisfaction. The U.S. News and World Report college rankings reign supreme.
The importance of these rankings for alumni is that the higher the number, the more bragging rights you get. Better yet, you enjoy these perks even if the school was third tier when you went there.
Taking in inflation and whatever else some “start saving now for college” government website said, if one of my kids wants to live and learn on the frozen tundra of Burr College, one hundred percent of total college costs will be $624,332.
I need to make some serious coin and don’t need a big college blackhead on my resume. Then again, since I don’t remember my sophomore year and completely regret my senior, let’s raise a glass and toast my daughter’s future career in typewriter repair.
